The Responsibilities and Outputs that need to be achieved for this position include:

·         Address land & sea based issues with stakeholders and participate in EIAs and monitoring thereof

·         Issue aquaculture licences, permits, certificates

·         Implement a water quality monitoring programme

·         Implement a sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) and  a biosecurity programme

·         Training of staff members

·         Research and development

·         Improve extension services

·         Developing and coordinating the work of the Division’s two research centres and staff compliment

• Vast multi-disciplinary experience in marine and environment related fields in the public and private sectors.
• Extensive experience and capacity in compiling, reviewing and editing of comprehensive scientific reports.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Extensive experience in compiling, reviewing and editing of scientific reports.
• Comprehensive management experience of professional teams and individuals.
• Substantial expertise in professional and official representation at international level.
• Skilled at communicating technical and non-technical materials at a professional level to audiences, peers, administrators and the public at large.
• First-rate interpersonal skills and experience in liaising with scientific, official and private institutions and universities at national and international level.
• Sound knowledge of and vast experience with computers and computer programmes including word processing, electronic presentations, spread sheets, email and internet.
• Vast experience in working at medium-high as well as senior management level in the Benguela Region.
• Capacity and experience to work with the Industry and the public at large.
