Marine biologist and PADI-certified scientific diver specialized in subtidal ecology and assessment of benthic marine invertebrate resources within the Humboldt Current System. Extensive experience in the design and implementation of long-term monitoring programs, biological and population assessments, and ecosystem-based fisheries research in coastal environments of southern Peru.
Responsible for coordinating the Monitoring Program of Artisanal Marine Invertebrate Fisheries in the Arequipa region, integrating biological, fishery, and oceanographic data to support sustainable resource management and decision-making processes.

Planning and execution of biological, population, and fisheries research on commercially important benthic species such as Mesodesma donacium, Concholepas concholepas, Loxechinus albus, and kelp forest-associated macroalgae.

Delimitation, mapping, and spatial characterization of habitat suitability areas for benthic resources and macroalgae using GIS tools and geospatial analysis.

Statistical analysis and modeling of oceanographic and biodiversity datasets using R and spatial analysis tools, supporting stock assessment and ecosystem-based management approaches.

Participation in national and international research initiatives, including the GEF–UNDP Humboldt Current Large Marine Ecosystem (HCLME) project, contributing to ecosystem-based management frameworks.

Marine biologist with over 15 years of professional experience in the assessment and management of benthic marine resources within the Humboldt Current System (Peru). My work integrates scientific diving, field-based monitoring, spatial analysis, and statistical modeling to support sustainable fisheries and ecosystem-based management.
I am currently involved in long-term monitoring programs of artisanal fisheries, focusing on key benthic resources such as the sea urchin Loxechinus albus, the surf clam Mesodesma donacium, and brown macroalgae (Macrocystis spp. and Lessonia spp.). My work includes population assessments, habitat characterization, and evaluation of resource status to inform management and conservation strategies.
My research interests are centered on population dynamics, habitat suitability modeling, and ecological niche analysis of benthic species, with a growing emphasis on the application of FAIR data principles to enhance accessibility, interoperability, and reuse of marine biodiversity data.
I am interested in establishing collaborations in benthic ecology, fisheries science, macroalgal ecosystems, and marine spatial analysis, particularly within the Humboldt Current Large Marine Ecosystem.
