Associate professor of the Geodesy Department, Institute of Geosciences, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. She is a permanent professor of the Remote Sensing Postgraduation Program (UFRGS). She teaches Geographic Information Systems and Digital Imaging Processing in the undergraduate level. She has experience in Oceanography, with emphasis in Coastal Management. Her activities are specially focused on GIS and remote sensing applied to environmental management and planning, mainly in coastal zones. Her interests include land use and cover change impacts on ecological processes and environmental risks, GIS-based spatial modeling, and ecosystem-based management applied to environmental planning.
