My current position as numerical ocean modeller at the South African Environmental Observation Network requires me to develop modelling capacity within South Africa as well as to develop high resolution shelf-scale numerical models that allow us to develop our understanding of ocean processes and how they are changing. Specifically, I am leading an initiative to develop a regional ocean forecast system for South Africa.
