Activities
Conservation related marine ecology and marine biological surveys using a variety of techniques including remote techniques (Roxann and video), in-situ shore and diving surveys, underwater photography and video and sediment in-fauna sampling. Worked on the Joint Nature Conservation Committee's (JNCC) Marine Nature Conservation Review including surveys of Scottish sealochs, North East England and South East Scotland, North Wales and Cardigan Bay and sections of Devon, Cornwall and Pembrokeshire. Co-author and development of marine biotope classification for Gt Britain and Ireland. Currently co-ordinating field survey monitoring trials in Welsh special areas of conservation. Also diving safety officer for CCW, English Nature, Scottish Natural Heritage and JNCC. Also research on Caribbean coral reefs including coral growth rate studies and reef conservation.
