Activities
carried out spatial and temporal analyzes of parrotfish
communities and their distribution in the archipelago of San
Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, to get data on the
current state of populations to contributing to management
and conservation strategies to the Seaflower Biosphere
Reserve.
Works and makes part on the research group :
Environmental Caribbean Studies research group at the
National University of Colombia, Caribbean headquarters.
Participated in research projects at the National University
of Colombia, Caribbean headquarters as a researcher in the
following projects:
"Proposals to improve the sustainability of tourism on the
island of San Andrés"
"Strengthening of management processes and knowledge about
management, use and management of resources in the
Seaflower biosphere reserve"
"Implementation of actions for the sustainability of
biodiversity and ecosystem services in the Seaflower
Biosphere reserve ”.
Participated in the Seaflower scientific expeditions.
Skills
The conservation and restoration of ecosystems and strategic
marine species, coral reefs, sea turtles, parrotfish,
mangroves and their importance for the ecosystem integrity for
coral reefs resilience. Marine animal health and management
guidelines for marine species contributing to their
conservation and well-being according to their biological
characteristics.
