Activities
I've worked with remote sensing applied to submarine volcanism (dissertation on the characterisation of discolouration plumes associated with this type of eruptions between 2000 and 2018, worldwide) and it's my main research interest.
In 2021 I did an internship (9 months) at the Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory of University of Coimbra, where I developed a taste for inventorying, organising and analysing historical geophysical data. In 2022 I worked as a researcher in the HISTIGUC project, funded by FCT. Currently, I'm a PhD candidate in Marine Sciences, specialising in Oceanography, at the University of Azores.
I've published some abstracts related to natural hazards, remote sensing, submarine volcanism and historical geophysical data, and a book chapter on fluvial flooding using historical rainfall data.

I won a PhD scholarship in Remote Sensing Data Applied to Submarine Volcanism, where the main objective is to create a model based on parameters like Chl-a, sst, , poc, pic and kd 490 extracted from time periods when submarine volcanism is known to be ongoing. I'm also curious to see what effect deep currents, surface currents and even wind can have on the distribution of volcanic products.
