Operational Support (technical)
Subject Area
Climatology, Meteorology
Marine and Coastal Engineering
Physical Oceanography
Activities
• Provided technical support in the development of an ocean and wave model based on the COAWST
(Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere-Wave-Sediment Transport) Model to enhance the accuracy of the
operational hydrometeorological forecasting system. This work was a key part of the "Development of
Maritime Meteorological Information System in Indonesia (MMS-1)" project.
• Developed and implemented a 30-year InaCAWO hindcast model. Redesign the InaCAWO framework—
originally designed for short-term operational forecasting—to ensure numerical stability and
consistency for extensive 30-year long-term simulations.
• Initial Development of Air-Sea Regional Climate Models using RegCM-SYMPHONIE: We are exploring
how coupling affects regional air-sea interactions and minimizes biases in precipitation and SST in the
seasonal forecast simulation by using the CFS as model input.
• Recently doing research about water masses in the Banda Seas and the surrounding Indonesian Seas using data from profiling floats.
