Activities
I am a biologist with a master’s degree in marine biology and a Ph.D. in Marine Sciences; I am currently a
postdoctoral fellow at Cinvestav in Mérida, Yucatán. Since my academic training, I have dedicated myself to the conservation of terrestrial and marine
environments. My work focuses on studying the conservation of biodiversity in Caribbean coral reefs through the application of reef restoration methods and
the management of key benthic organisms to mitigate the consequences of climate change. Since 2021, I have been a member of the Blue Schools Network and
Escuelas Azules México-COI-UNESCO, where I have been dedicated to raising awareness about ocean conservation, promoting ocean culture and literacy, as
well as co-organizing outreach events at environmental fairs featuring science workshops, training courses on ocean culture, and the development of
educational materials to convey knowledge about the ocean’s components in a more accessible and easy-to-understand way.
