I am an Oceanographic Engineer graduated from the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL, Ecuador), with a Master's degree in Geodetic Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR, Brazil). I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Oceanography at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil).
My professional and research activities focus on the integration of Oceanography, Geodesy, Remote Sensing, and Geospatial Technologies. I have experience in geospatial data processing and analysis, coastal bathymetry, hydrodynamic studies, numerical modeling, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), digital image processing, and environmental monitoring.
Throughout my academic and professional career, I have participated in research and development projects at both public and private institutions in Brazil and Ecuador. I worked as a Research and Technological Development (DTI) Fellow at the Paraná Environmental Technology and Monitoring System (SIMEPAR), contributing to geoprocessing projects for dam monitoring, as well as environmental studies, engineering projects, and geospatial analyses.
I also have experience in higher education as a teaching assistant for Coastal Modeling and Oceanographic Data Analysis courses at ESPOL, where I supported undergraduate students in hydrodynamic modeling, GIS, Delft3D, MIKE 21, and oceanographic data analysis.
My current research focuses on developing methodologies for coastal bathymetry estimation using remote sensing by integrating Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and optical satellite imagery with oceanographic observations, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing platforms such as Google Earth Engine. My research interests include coastal modeling, physical geodesy, environmental monitoring, Earth observation, and the development of algorithms for processing and integrating geospatial data.
I am committed to advancing innovative, science-based solutions that support coastal management, environmental monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making through the integration of applied research, geospatial technologies, and computational methods.
