I had been working as a Chief Senior Researcher in the TUBITAK MAM - MARINE and Coastal RESEARCH Group between 1998 - 2025. I graduated from METU as an Urban Planner in 1993. I have two Master's Degrees in City Planning and Urban Design. 

The most recent variety of practices of the Ecosystem Approach (EcAp) and Land-Sea Interactions (LSI), the adaptive management improve spatial planning were implemented. In my professional life, I had a chance to introduce these approaches in to the projects under my responsibility such as “DISSP - Project for Standardization in Marine Monitoring (2024 – 2025)”, “DEN-İZ Integrated Marine Pollution Monitoring Program (2023 – 2025)”, “UNEP NAP (1 and 2)- For the Implementation of the LBS Protocol and Its Regional Plans in The Framework of the SA-MED With the Aim to Achieve GES For Pollution-Related ECAP Ecological Objective” Project, H2020-BG-2018-2020 (Blue Growth) BRIDGE-BS, etc.

Through those projects’ work packages under my responsibility, were developed to create policy outputs which reflected in national strategies, legislations and future programmes. Those policy outputs not limited in national scale but also reflected international organizations/programmes and regional conventions such as Barcelona, Bucharest Conventions. The output of those projects was subject to the scientific credited publications where National and International Organizations and research institutes took citation from.

Additional to all, I also took an effective role as spatial planner in risk based adaptive management to spatialize future scenarios for coastal and marine ecosystems, and expert in applying GIS tools and Living Lab practices.
