Subject Area
Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology
Activities
As a research assistant in the Laboratory of Marine Toxins of the University of El Salvador, I'm currently working on the Permanent Program of the Red Tide Monitoring in El Salvador.
Specifically, I perform analysis of biovolumen of the toxin-producing species of phytoplankton in both, fresh and marine water. With this aim, I participate in the field sampling of water and physics-chemics variables. Also, I contributed to the continuity of this type of analysis by planning educational talks for biology students of the University of El Salvador.
Skills
I have experience in scientific data analysis in R, creating programs to calculate the biovolume of toxin-producing species of phytoplankton. Also, I have worked on identification and quantification of phytoplankton in both fresh and marine water.
