Passionate research scientist with 13 years of experience in Marine and
Lake Victoria basin, design and implement Remote Sensing and GIS
projects and products in consultation with staff and partners to meet user
needs, Lead or participate in project teams providing Remote Sensing & GIS
support in all water bodies, Land Use Land Cover change (LULC), Water quality assessment, Solid wastes, by producing relevant maps and graphs for presentations, technical papers, or reports.
Skills
1. Spatial analysis and GIS application (Developing plans, environmental
zoning, Climate change adaptation, Erosion/Flood and other nature
disaster). i) Plan, Design and perform mapping/Spatial analysis/modelling iii)
Develop GIS database systems-Design and develop GIS database
management system.
2. GIS map production and geo database design tasks for different projects
with special focus on spatial analysis a of Coastal and Marine Resources.
3. Develop methodologies for data analysis and modeling to support
decision-making particularly for Environmental Conservation purpose (e.g.,
Mapping of Protected Area as a step towards achieving floral as well as
faunal conservation).
4. Land cover change detection analyses, producing scientific technical
reports and acquisition of the necessary baseline and monitoring data.
5. Mapping downstream floodplains, integrated small waterbodies and
riparian community livelihoods dependent on natural resources
