Professor at the Instituto de Biología Experimental (IBE) of the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Researcher in the areas of Phycology, Ecology and Marine Biology. His current main project is Ficoflora Venezuela, the first digital taxonomic catalog of benthic macroalgae of the country, including an open access database with thousands of records, photographs, georeferencing of localities, maps and bibliographic sources.
He combines teaching activities with the responsibility of being Coordinator of the Academic Committee of the Postgraduate Program in Sciences, mention Botany, Coordinator of the Sectoral Classification Commission of the Faculty of Sciences and Head of the Unit of Promotion, Selection and Admission of the Faculty of Sciences.
His experience in university management includes having been director of the School of Biology, Head of the Department of Botany and Coordinator of the Teaching Unit of Plant Biology on several occasions.
With more than 22 years in coordination positions and more than 35 years as a teacher-researcher, he combines knowledge and skills that are developed with experience. Strengths: solving requirements related to the management of university activities, research, training of high-level human talent and the management of academic or administrative processes.
