I have a doctorate in Marine Biotechnology and a master's degree in Marine Biology and I am currently the Head of the Ballast Water and Biofouling Division at the Environmental Superintendency of the Directorate of Ports and Coasts (DPC) of the Brazilian Navy (temporary Lt). In addition to my background in bioinvasion mediated by the maritime transport and the role of the Brazilian Maritime Authority, I am also responsible for developing Environmental Technical Reports on marine pollution by oil and byproducts and assessing administrative fines. I provide training to the port captaincies on the various environmental topics within the jurisdiction of the Maritime Authority and I have participated in courses and simulations on the Incident Command System. I had the opportunity to experience the dynamics of the first activation of the National Contingency Plan by the Monitoring and Assessment Group led by the Navy. I also have experience in environmental audits in Military Organizations, and a good understanding of the environmental consultancy market.
