Currently, I work in the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) sector at Petrobras in the offshore units of the Santos Basin, where I participate in contingency planning and responses, as well as monitoring environmental safety indicators and contributing to the development of emergency plans. This experience provides me with practical insight into the importance of environmental monitoring in sensitive and high-risk areas.
I am the founder of DuoFish Environmental Solutions, where I lead projects focused on environmental monitoring and food safety, with an emphasis on the quality analysis of artisanal fish and aquatic biota in the Baixada Santista region. DuoFish's work is guided by the ‘One Health’ approach, integrating public health, sustainability, and food security.
Additionally, I am a research fellow at the Foundation for Agribusiness Development Research (FUNDEPAG), where I evaluate chemical contaminants, both organic and inorganic, in fish and other organisms captured in the Baixada Santista region. The research focuses on the impacts of events such as the Ultracargo fire, which potentially affects public health and food safety.
Through this course, I aim to expand my knowledge of biomonitoring hazardous substances, applying these new learnings to my work at Petrobras, FUNDEPAG, and DuoFish. I believe that a deeper understanding of biomonitoring methods will be crucial for improving environmental monitoring processes, always aiming to mitigate risks to human health and the environment.
With the knowledge acquired, I intend to contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions in protecting coastal ecosystems and ensuring food safety for communities dependent on artisanal fishing.
