Activities
My work includes preparing and issuing marine, public, and aviation weather forecasts, advisories, and warnings, as well as monitoring hazardous weather and climate conditions affecting Seychelles. As part of the National Tsunami Warning Centre, I monitor seismic and tsunami events, assess potential threats, disseminate tsunami alerts and warnings, and support national emergency response. I also contribute to the implementation of the UNESCO Tsunami Ready Programme, with a focus on strengthening tsunami preparedness and supporting Seychelles' journey towards having Tsunami Ready Communities.
Skills
Experienced in operational weather forecasting with expertise in marine meteorology, aviation meteorology, and tsunami early warning. Skilled in monitoring and assessing weather, marine, and coastal hazards; preparing forecasts, advisories, and warnings; supporting emergency response; and contributing to disaster risk reduction through the implementation of the UNESCO Tsunami Ready Programme and the strengthening of early warning systems.
