Summary
I completed my BSc in Biological Sciences and BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and Biotechnology at the University of the Witwatersrand, where I became and tutor and Teaching assistant I am doing my MSc in Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences in the Department of Oceanography at the University of Cape Town (UCT). I also completed short undergraduate courses at UCT namely: Marine Systems (SEA2005) and Ocean and Atmosphere Dynamics (SEA3004) to assist me in gaining background knowledge in oceanography, in addition to the internship I did at Southern Ocean Climate-Observatory (SOCCO) at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). My research focuses on investigating the uncertainties associated with biogeochemical model complexity in the Southern Ocean, specifically, the sub-Antarctic zone (SAZ). We are comparing two PISCES biogeochemical models: the Quota and Standard versions, which differ in complexity and ascertain the uncertainties that arise when these models are used to simulate ocean processes like nutrient cycling, and carbon dynamics in the SAZ.

Comment(s)
When I obtained my Honours Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, I developed a strong passion for research. Although I started without a background in oceanography, I quickly adapted despite the challenges, and I am committed to excelling in this field. My interest in oceanography stems from the ocean's vital role in shaping Earth’s climate and ecosystems.
