Activities
I am scientist with over four years of applied experience bridging marine ecology, environmental economics, and coastal governance within the Caribbean region. My core ecological expertise includes investigating marine ecosystems, supporting avian and marine life conservation initiatives, and tracking spatial animal movements through integrated remote sensing and GIS applications. The work I contribute to directly intersects environmental economics and resource management, as demonstrated by my research on the intrinsic and instrumental valuation of sea turtles in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as my support of sustainable revenue generation initiatives within state resource departments. In the domains of policy and environmental law, I have contributed critically to the regional execution of international legal frameworks, including CITES and the Ramsar Convention, while providing technical feedback on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and advocating for national legislative reforms. I has instrumental experience drafting foundational environmental management policies, notably supporting a 10-year Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) action plan, a Marine Spatial Plan (MSP) for the Gulf of Paria, and the regional revision of the Sea Turtle Recovery Action Plan (STRAP). Backed by advanced Caribbean Marine Protected Area Management (CaMPAM) training. I have been able to provide comprehensive research support services by coordinating multi-disciplinary field logistics, managing geo-spatial databases, and maintaining compliance reporting structures to facilitate evidence-based ocean management and stakeholder-led conservation strategies.
