Activities
1. I work closely
with emergency management agencies across the country. I Maintain situational awareness of the
weather, with particular focus on severe weather events that may lead to
impacts.
2. Deliver and coordinate meteorological functions and coordinate partner engagement
activities to capture their requirements for planning, preparation, response
and recovery.
3. Engage with emergency management partners through provision
of clearly communicated expert advice, interpret impacts, timing,
uncertainty and risks by connecting weather, climate and water information to
customer's decisions to help effectively mitigate their risks.
4. Deliver pre-season planning and preparedness
activities, including desktop exercises and public awareness campaigns.
Providing additional intelligence to support the interpretation of Bureau
forecasts and warnings relating to weather and assisting emergency managers to
make key decisions that keep the community safe.
5. During
severe weather events, fulfill operational severe weather warning roles as required, or delivering
high-level briefings to partners, media interviews and press conferences during
peak demand.
