Activities
I am a university professor and researcher specializing in Human Physiology and Environmental Physiology, with a focus on physiological, cognitive, and behavioral responses to extreme environments (ICE – Isolated, Confined, and Extreme).
My academic activities involve supervising graduate students, leading interdisciplinary research projects, and developing low-cost scientific technologies for health and performance monitoring in polar and analog settings.
I coordinate the MEDIANTAR Project (Medicine and Physiology of Extremes), which investigates human adaptation to Antarctic conditions and climate change impacts, combining field research and environmental simulation chambers.
My work bridges health sciences and ocean-climate interactions, aiming to inform science-based policies for human health and safety in polar regions.
