Subject Area
Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology
Activities
Research on the effect of climate change on marine phytoplankton in the Antarctic Peninsula region through in situ data
Cultivation of microalgae using ash from a thermoelectric plant as a possible replacement for inorganic nutrients
Maintenance and renewal of the culture bank of the Marine Phytoplankton Laboratory of the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG)
Skills
I have a bachelor's degree in Oceanology from the Federal University of Rio Grande. I have been working for 3 years with studies related to microalgae. I performed analyses focused on the use of microalgae as biotechnology, learning from cultivation and isolation of marine phytoplankton. Currently, I am a master's student in Biological Oceanography and I am investigating the effects of climate change on phytoplankton communities in the Northern Antarctic Peninsula through data collected over 10 years in situ.
