He has a degree in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's) and a Master's in Ecology from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). PhD in Biological Sciences (Environmental Biophysics) from the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute | Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IBCCF-UFRJ). He was a substitute professor (2023-2024) (Area: Environmental Health) at the IBCCF-UFRJ, responsible for the classes: Environmental Toxicology, Scientific Method and Biodiversity. Currently is a post-doctoral researcher (FAPERJ/PRD-10) linked to the Laboratory of Ecophysiology and Toxicology of Cyanobacteria (LETC-UFRJ) and collaborating researcher at the Laboratory of Evaluation and Promotion of Environmental Health (LAPSA-IOC/Fiocruz). He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Ecotoxicology (ECOTOX-Brazil), the International Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) and a full member representing CRBio 2nd Region in the Coordination of the Jacarepaguá Lagoon System Subcommittee (CBH BG-JPA).He is a reviewer for over 30 national and international journals, Associate Editor of the journal Ecotoxicology and Environmental Contamination and Ad-hoc consultant for international research organizations (France, Poland and Hong Kong). He has experience in water quality assessment, freshwater phytoplankton, Fico- and cyanotoxin analysis (ELISA, HPLC and LC-MS) and toxicity/phytoremediation tests. She works in the areas of Limnology, Chemical Ecology, Environmental Toxicology and Ecotoxicology on the following topics: Cyanobacteria and harmful algae; Cultivation and Ecophysiology, Emerging Contaminants and Biological Interactions. He is interested in the environmental factors underlying the production of cyanotoxins, their eco-evolutionary implications and impacts on Public and Environmental Health.
