Activities
My main research activity is devoted to the Analysis of Benthic Communities from the Macaronesian Region, specially macroalgae and plant/animal interactions.These studies comprises intertidal and subtidal habitats as well as comparisons of enviromental effects on plant/animal populations. Another area of work is management of coastal zone, protected areas design and management of living resources. Besides, the use of macroalgal as biofilter is implemented to reduce potential impact of aquacultureactivities in the littoral ecosystems.

At present time, the Society of Natural History of the Macaronesia is based in the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This NGO welcome any iniciative to foster the knowlegdment of terrestrial/marine ecosystems of Azores, Madeira, Salvages,Canaries, Cape Verd Archipelagos and nearby areas.
