Activities
The teaching activities are carried out for the undergraduate program in Geology, Master in Meteorology, Master in Exact and Natural Sciences and Doctorate in Geosciences. The subjects are: Introduction to oceanology, General oceanography, Regional oceanography, Marine meteorology, Ocean physics, Ocean dynamics, and Numerical modeling of oceanological processes.
The research topics are: 1- the influence of ocean-atmospheric processes of different spatial and time scales on the thermohaline and dynamic fields of marine waters. 2- climate change and climate variability. 3- study of oceanic-atmospheric interaction through regional and global circulation models.
The geographic areas of interest are the Caribbean Sea, the Colombian Pacific Basin, Gerlache and Brandsfield Straits, Antarctica.
The research activities are carried out as leader of the Research Group in Oceanology - CENIT.
