Giuseppe SIENA is a researcher in
physical oceanography, mainly devoted to the care and management of field
activity at the OCE Department of Oceanography at OGS. His background and expertise
are deeply rooted in a more then twenty-year experience, matured in several
research organizations, such as the Meteorology and Oceanography Department at
"Parthenope" University in Naples and the CoNISMa (National
Interuniversity Consortium for Sea Sciences). In particular, he has been
responsible for the management of the technical activity on board the
UNIVERSITATIS research vessel for five years, participating in several oceanographic
campaigns, both in scientific and commercial fields, often also as a tutor in
the on-board university training activities. He has participated in several
research projects ("SYMPLEX", "MATER", "Interreg II
Italy-Greece", "Interreg Italia-Albania", "White coral
bioconstruction in Southern Ionian Sea - Apulian Plateau Bank",
"CLIMA" SINAPSI "). More recently, he has participated in the
projects "RITMARE" and "NEMO-BioSist". He is particularly
involved in the management of the Sailor E2-M3A Observatory site in Southern
Adriatic.
