Activities
I´m a posdoc researcher with emphasis on the taxonomy and sistematic of deep-sea Valvifera isopods (crustacea: Peracarida) from off Argentina
Skills
My skills include a wide knoledge of taxonomy and systematic of isopods of the suborder Valvifera (Crustacea: Peracarida). In particular, I´m working from 2017 with the isopod fauna from the Mar del Plata submarine canyon. Since then I have described 6 new species from this area. In addition, in these works other aspects of the isopods have been analyzed: revision of the genera Edotia and Oxyarcturus; first phylogenetic analyses of the family Antarcturidae based on mofphological characters; first record of genus Pseudione in the Mar del Plata submarine canyon; first record and male description of the species Fissarcturus patagonicus (Ohlin, 1901) since its original description and importance of male characters in the systematic of the genus Fissarcturus.
In 2021, I stayed in the Zoological Museum Hamburg (ZMH) with a Short-Research Grant from DAAD. During this 3-month stay I revised all the type and reference material deposite in the Crustacea collection of the ZMH. All this work was used to construct and perform a phylogenetic analyses in my Ph.D thesis. In addition, I have sorted and identified hundreds of Valvifera specimens, resulting in the increase of more than 200 catalogue numbers in the crustacea collection.
In 2022, I obtained my Ph.D degree with a dissertation titled "Phylogenetic systematics and Biogeography of Valvifera ispopods (Crustacea: Peracarida) from the Argentine Continental Shelf and Slope".
Currently, I'm a posdoc researcher, and I'm including molecular techniques to the study of deep-sea valvifera isopods from off Argentina
