operational oceanography in the Mediterranean, particularly within the
framework of the Copernicus marine component projects (former known as Global
Monitoring for Environment and Security, MyOceans, etc).

Zodiatis is a co-developer of the CYCOFOS-Cyprus
Coastal Ocean Forecasting and Observing System, known to be the first
operational coastal forecasting system in the Mediterranean, providing downscaled
sea forecasts since early 2002.
