Dr. M. Masilamani Selvam studied Marine Biology in Annamalai University and then worked various marine research projects under Prof.Dr.K.Kathiresan, who is one of the famous mangrove scientists in the World. After completing his Ph.D. he was working as a scientific advisor for sometime in a NGO named Organization for Marine Conservation Awareness and Research (OMCAR), Pattukkottai, India. And then he got an opportunity at Suganthi Devadason Marine Research Institute to work with Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) to study the biodiversity of Gulf of Mannar, India. Dr.Selvam has been working as an Associate Professor of Biotechnology in Sathyabama University located at Chennai, India since 2008. In 2011 he had been awarded with BOYSCAST Fellowship sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to work with Prof. Dr.H.Laatsch, Goettingen University, Germany. He had been working on Marine natural products for many years and now concentrating on climate change and its impact on marine organisms particularly marine birds.
