Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Amazonas (1997), master in Genetics and Evolution from the Federal University of São Carlos (2002) and PhD in Biotechnology from the Federal University of Amazonas (2009). She is currently an Associate Professor of the Agroecology and Forestry Engineering courses at the Federal University of Alagoas. She has experience in the area of genetics, working mainly in: molecular genetics of aquatic organisms (fish, microalgae, microparasites and turtles), genotoxicity and microparasitology. Currently coordinates the Scientific Expeditions of the Lower São Francisco. She participated in the projects: Study of genetic diversity and characterization of cultures of dinoflagellates of the genus Dinophysis (DIGEDINO), carried out at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (Vigo, Spain); Microparasitology and Pathology of Aquatic Fauna of Brazil, carried out together with the University of Porto and the project Participatory Environmental Diagnosis of the Main Rivers of the South of the APA Costa dos Corais (Alagoas).
