Activities
The department has approximately 120 scientists with activities ranging from the ecosystems in Sweden´s northern mountain regions, through forest, land and streams all the way to the sea.
In these environments we work with biological organisation on all levels, from genes and cells, via specimens and populations to communities and ecosystems.
The scientist´s competences within the areas ecology, evolution, physiology and systematics are integrated to understand natural and anthropogenic changes in the environment and by those means solve important problems within both basic and applied research.
