  • 2.2 - CIFDP Sub-Projects Update
    A presentation will be provided on each of the three existing sub-projects to provide clarity on their organization, their plans, their work, their results etc.
  • 2.3 - CIFDP-C Project Update
    The PSG will present an overview of the prior work and progress to date on this specific sub-project from initiation through the establishment of a national agreement for the Dominican Republic to today.
  • 2.4 - Severe Weather Forecast Demonstration Project (SWFDP) Caribbean
    The Secretariat will provide an update on thinking and planning for the SWFDP project being developed in the Caribbean.
  • 2.5 - Impact-Based Forecasting
    A presentation will be provided on impact based forecasting.
  • 2.6 - Links with Related Programmes
    A presentation will be provided providing an overview of other related programmes and initiatives of potential relevance to CIFDP-C.
  • 3 - UPDATE ON END USER PERSPECTIVES/REQUIREMENTS
  • 3.1 - Coastal Inundation on Hispaniola
    Representatives and participants from the local country technical organizations will be invited to inform all participants about the nature of coastal inundation, current technical capacities and identified gaps.
  • 3.2 - User Requirements
    Participants will be invited to review user requirements that have been identified through the prior work on this project.
  • 3.3 - Outcomes of CIFDP-C
    Participants will be invited to consider and discuss how the ultimate outcomes of CIFDP-C will be integrated with existing products, services, programs etc. of the local technical organizations – to identify how outcomes that address the requirements can be implemented.
  • 4 - PROJECT PLANNING
  • 4.1 - Technical project plan, scope and timeline
    The NHC will provide an initial proposal for a project plan including the scope and timeline for discussion and consideration.
  • 4.2 - System Design and Project Plan
    The Participants will be engaged in an initial discussion of the system design and project plan.
  • 5 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT ISSUES
  • 5.1 - Management and Oversight
    The PSG and participants will discuss the overall management and oversight of the project including leadership, committee establishment, the relationship with the PSG, etc.
  • 5.2 - Funding
    The PSG and participants will discuss the overall funding of the project.
  • 6 - ANY OTHER BUSINESS
    The meeting will consider any other business arising.
  • 7 - CLOSING OF FIRST SESSION
  • 7.1 - Review of the Action Items and Decisions of the Session
    Participants will review the draft list of decisions and actions prepared by the Secretariat.
  • 8 - CLOSURE OF THE FIRST SESSION
    The Managerial/Project Development section of the meeting will close at 5:00 PM on April 24th, 2015.
  • 9 - OPENING OF THE SECOND SESSION
  • 9.1 - Opening of the Session
    The opening of the second session of the Coastal Inundation Forecasting Demonstration Project – Caribbean (CIFDP-C) will take place on Monday, 27 April at 9 a.m.
  • 9.2 - Revision of the agenda
    Participants will be requested to identify additional items for the agenda.
  • 9.3 - Organization of the meeting
    Participants will decide on working hours and other arrangements for conducting the meeting. Background documents and supporting material will be introduced by the Secretariat and are available on the meeting web site.
  • 1 - OPENING OF THE FIRST SESSION
    This Meeting will consist of two Sessions: April 23 (afternoon) - 24 (Managerial/Project Development) and 27-29(noon) (Technical Development)
  • 1.1 - Opening of the meeting
    The opening of the meeting will take place on Thursday, 23 April at 1 p.m.
  • 1.2 - Adoption of the agenda
    Participants will be invited to adopt the agenda and will be requested to identify additional items for the agenda and the agenda may also be amended during the course of the meeting.
  • 1.3 - Organization of the meeting
    Participants will decide on working hours and other arrangements for conducting the meeting. Background documents and supporting material will be introduced by the Secretariat and are available on the meeting web site.
  • 10 - OVERVIEW OF THE CIFDP AND RELATED PROJECTS
  • 10.1 - Summary of Managerial Session
    The Secretariat will provide participants with a brief summary of the discussions from the first days Managerial session to inform any new participants etc.
  • 10.2 - CIFDP-C Project Update
    The PSG will present in detail the prior work and progress to date on this specific sub-project from initiation through the establishment of a national agreement for the Dominican Republic to today.
  • 11 - UPDATE ON END USER PERSPECTIVES/REQUIREMENTS
  • 11.1 - Dominican Republic Updated Requirements
    Representatives from the Dominican Republic will update participants regarding user requirements as possible.
  • 11.2 - Haiti Requirements
    Representatives from Haiti will update participants regarding user requirements as possible.
  • 11.3 - User Requirements Summary
    Participants will be invited to agree on a consolidated assessment of user requirements as a guiding document for the project.
  • 12 - PROJECT PLANNING
  • 12.1 - Technical project plan, scope and timeline
    The NHC will provide a detailed initial proposal for a project plan including the scope and timeline for discussion and consideration.
  • 12.2 - Technical Requirements: Dominican Republic
    Representatives will identify, as possible, technical requirements etc. that the Dominican Republic needs to be included in the project plan.
  • 12.3 - Technical Requirements: Haiti
    Representatives will identify, as possible, technical requirements etc. that Haiti needs to be included in the project plan.
  • 12.4 - System Design and Project Plan
    The Participants will be engaged in the discussion and development of a system design and project plan.
  • 13 - CLOSING
  • 13.1 - Adoption of the Action Items and Decisions of the Meeting
    Participants will review and approve the draft list of decisions and actions prepared by the Secretariat. The final report of the meeting will be consolidated by the Secretariat for review and approval after the meeting.
  • 13.2 - Dates and Place of the Next Meeting
    Participants will be invited to consider the date and place of the next meeting including sub-project leaders with the PSG.
  • 14 - CLOSURE OF THE SECOND SESSION AND MEETING
    The meeting will close at noon on April 29th, 2015.

    The PSG will provide participants with a presentation of the full CIFDP conceptual framework and associated implementation plan.
